Clergy 


The Reverend Kimberly Meinecke became our Priest-in-Charge (now our Vicar) on February 1, 2016.  Kimmy has been a pastor with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) since 2002.  She works full-time at St. David's under the direction of our Episcopal diocesan bishop, using liturgies approved by our bishop and the wider Episcopal Church. Kimmy has extensive experience at churches in the Northwest.  She has traveled with the World Council of Churches on assignments in the Middle East and also traveled in Ireland visiting Celtic "thin places." She is musically talented, having sung with the St. Olaf College Choir. Kimmy is married to Alex Barclay.

 

The Reverend Deacon Finn Pond, TSSF, was ordained in 2002 at St. David’s. Now retired, he was a professor of molecular biology at Whitworth University. He is also a third-order Franciscan. Finn encourages St. David’s members to take a thoughtful and respectful Christian approach to environmental issues. Finn and his wife Jean Pond are active drummers with Spokane Taiko.

 

  

 

 

The Reverend Deacon Gaye Lagana was ordained in 2008 at St. David's, She served with us until moving to Las Vegas in 2013, then returned to us in 2019. Gaye earned her BA degree in linguistics and English Education. She worked in education before earning a MA degree in Movement Therapy.  She has worked in outpatient clinics and psychiatric hospitals serving children, adolescents and adults. While studying for the diaconate, Gaye also earned a certificate in Spiritual Direction from Gonzaga University. Gaye is married to Steve Lagana and together they parent five adult daughters who live along the west coast from California to Alaska.

Janice Provencal joined us as music director in October 2022.  She has extensive experience playing piano, guitar, and drums in many types of churches.  Since 1999 Janice has taught private music lessons, first in California and since 2015 in Spokane.  As a worship leader, her focus is on accompaniment and encouraging congregants to participate in the music. 

 

 

 

Jackie Ehnes became our bookeeper in 2024, when she retired from long service as our parish administrator. Jackie is also an active volunteer with the Girl Scouts of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho, and is married to John Ehnes.

 

 

 

 

Maddie Baker-Fones became our nursery attendant in 2024.  Each Sunday of the school year, Maddie offers a safe and fun place for little children to learn a story about God and God’s love, do a craft, and pray together. Maddie is a student at Whitworth University.
